It's here! The other week I ordered Vidoll's new single. I've been patiently waiting for it to come and it finally did. This is the L.E. version so it came with a DVD that had the Blue Star PV on it. After I clicked 'buy' I got worried because I don't have a region 2 player...Luckily the DVD is region free!
I always feel a little strange talking about Visual Kei to other people because a majority of their fanbase is screaming girls. But, I really like the crazy outffits they normally wear. A lot of the music is just mediocre so I don't listen to it, I just flip through Shoxx or something. Vidoll became one of my favorite bands because of their off stage shenanigans combined with the variety of music they play. But really it's probably just a fixation with Rame's bass.
Other than that, I just went to a photo crit and then washed my car. All around a good day I think.
We had critiques most of the day today. As far as these things go it wasn't too brutal. We've been working on these projects for a while so we're getting close but it is obvious we still have a long way to go.
Our books are starting to slowly take shape, but the poster project is due next week and I'm really feeling the pressure. I'm really behind. So much left to do in so little time!
The picture is of our teacher going over how to sequence pages and keep each page fresh. We have to make each page unique while maintaining a clear progression of thought. It seems like it should be a simple thing to do but is easy to screw up if you aren't careful.
I went out with one of my classmates A* for beer and pizza afterward. Always good times when those two things are combined! Forgot to take a pic though so you get a boring in-class picture.
I have another crit/project due in product photography tomorrow. I feel pretty confident in my image and the photo department is much friendlier so it should be fun. My studio partner apparently baked 5 batches of cookies for it. Yes!
A Cliff Bar, an apple, and some green tea. This is what I've been having for dinner a lot lately when I have to go to school. I know I should eat more but this is easy to put together when I'm running out the door.
The worst is the Cliff Bar. It looks like poo but actually tastes decent. Not good mind you, but decent, and I have a lot of them. I picked up a case of them as emergency-don't-want-to-cook food...and it has sorta turned into a staple.
We went out for cheap, greasy food today after class to decompress a little. S* got some beef teriyaki dish then proceeded to make a smiley face out of it...but it totally looked like boobs at first. Guess he does this a lot? He put all his love into it and we got a good laugh.
I couldn't help but be reminded of Rame's video where he works in the maid cafe. I was tempted to draw a mayo kitty on my burger after that but I don't really like mayo all that much...And I would probably be the only one who got the joke.
We ended up sitting around for a few hours talking about what color we thought we were, Metallica's new logo, and a whole slew of other geeky designer talk. It was good but now I have to face the fact that we have way too much work to do before Thursday. -_-
Hey! Here we are, starting up a new blog. I normally don't follow through on these things so don't be amazed when I drop off for a long time. We'll see what happens.
I needed an outlet and have been reading too many blogs from Japanese bands...Thus this. I want to keep the words brief and have a photo on most of them. I tend to be wordy which makes the prospect of doing a new blog post daunting.
I'm at work right now but this is what will keep me up all night tonight. I need to stop slacking all weekend, but it felt really good to tune it all out and just play guitar all day.
Now back to work!
